How to edit videos.

Trim your video.

Get right to the good stuff with the trimming tool. When you upload video content to your timeline, a trimming option will appear. Trim any video clip to a key moment and then drop it in to your video. You can trim at any point in the editing process with the freedom to go back and revise your trimming choices.

Add music to your video.

Music can add an entirely new dimension to your video. Adobe Spark Video hooks you up with library of songs categorized by mood, waiting for you under the Music tab. Or upload your own music file for further personalization. Use the sliding lever to adjust the music volume level throughout the video.

Add messaging to video.

Select the plus icon to add text to your video. The full-screen, caption, and title and text layouts overlay your messaging over your video clip. Use the split screen to separate the two. Choose the caption layout to add subtitles. For a voiceover, select and hold the microphone button to record voice narration over the audio of your clip or the soundtrack.

Wherever you can add video clips, you can also add images. Choose images from your own photo library, or Adobe Spark Video's selection of free and premium stock photos. Adjust the time as needed for each photo slide.

Merge videos clips.

Use the Trim tool to adjust the length of a video clip and where to cut it so you can create a transition into the next video. You can also adjust the timestamp at the bottom of the frame to set the time for a video clip or photo slide and control how it merges into the next.

Resize your video.

Reformat your video for dozens of destinations. Select the Resize menu to scale your video to fit a square, widescreen, or vertical format.

Select your video theme.

Themes dictate how one slide transitions to the next, how media appears in each slide, and how the text enters the slide. The video editor toolbar lets you swap between and preview themes and colors to settle on what best suits your video story. You can even swap out fonts and text color to best convey your message, goal, and video mood.
